Shel Silverstein wrote “A Boy Name Sue” and sings it with Johnny Cash.

I loved Shel. He spent his summers where I would go every year. I met him when I was about 5 and every year after that, until I was about 17, he would remember me. We’d bump into each other at The Old Stone Bakery, and sit and talk. He didn’t own a car, so he’d walk past our house all the time and wave to us. One year for my birthday my uncle asked him to autograph A Giraffe and a Half. Instead of just signing his name, he drew a picture. It was a giraffe, with my name spelled out in it’s spots, with me on the back. BEST. GIFT. EVER.
